Planting Blueberry Bushes

We sell Mississippi grown rabbiteye blueberry bushes that have proven to be excellent producers for decades.

There are early, mid, and late season ripening varieties to choose from. Always remember to plant more than one variety for cross-pollination.

Blueberries like acidic soil and one of the best ways to ensure that you will be successful growing blueberries is to mix peat moss 50/50 with your soil as you plant to create the acidic soil that they need.

Mulching with pine bark or pine straw is a good idea to prevent weeds and conserve moisture.

We recommend pruning and fertilizing blueberries after they finish producing in late spring/early summer. Use an acid loving fertilizer.

Hutto’s Blueberry Special Fertilizer does a great job.
